Many Bronx residents gathered at the NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Sept. 11 memorial to pay their respects.
Elected officials read the names of the Bronx residents whose lives were lost 24 years ago. There was a moment of silence and reflection as well. Attendees laid white wreaths by the names engraved on the plaques.
The CEO of the hospital says it's always important to remember.
"We cannot forget what happened and the sacrifices that were made that day. Especially of those here in the Bronx. So, it's important to always celebrate them and remember their memory.”
