Three members of Nutley Squadron 70 received a special honor in the nation's capital earlier this week.

The group took part in wreath‑laying ceremonies with the National Sons of the American Legion.

Officials say Sons from all 55 detachments gather in Washington, D.C. each year for the organization's annual conference.

The weekend event concludes with testimony from the American Legion national commander before the House and Senate Joint Committee on Veterans Affairs.
