A Connecticut school district is getting national support as it works to safely integrate artificial intelligence into classrooms.

Norwalk Public Schools has been selected as one of just 10 school districts nationwide to participate in the EdSafe AI Spark Fund.

The program connects districts with national experts to help develop policies and best practices for the use of artificial intelligence in education.

District leaders say the focus will include protecting student information, improving transparency for parents and teaching AI literacy.

Norwalk also plans to track the AI and digital tools being used in classrooms.

Officials say that effort will give parents a clearer understanding of the technology their children are using in school.
