HIV-AIDS has affected Americans for decades, but now a new drug will help prevent cases of the disease.
Northwell Health in Manhasset is offering an FDA-approved drug called Yeztugo, which is taken twice a year.
One Northwell Health patient who has lived with AIDS since 2010 says she wishes the medication had come sooner.
“I think others should consider it, so you can protect yourself from having it. Therefore, we have a better life ahead of us without complications of our health,” says the patient.
The drug is a preventative in order to reduce the risk of contracting the disease
