The hottest day in over a week occurred today, with feels-like temperatures well into the triple digits.
Today wasn't a record-breaker, but it sure felt like one if you spent any time outside. The hottest temperatures were found in southern and coastal areas.
The beaches soared to the mid-90s and with dew point temperatures in a disrespectful range of 75 to 80 degrees, even at the Shore, you needed to be submerged in a pool or ocean to feel a reprieve from the vicious heat.
A weaker weather system moving through tonight will bring brief relief from the heat and the humidity for Friday and Saturday.
Tomorrow's forecast is a slam dunk. Probably one of the best summer days since the July 4 weekend. Saturday is turning into something different that will need to be watched with the possibility of storms.
By Sunday, the humidity returns with that favorable southerly wind and will, of course, stick around for the foreseeable future.
