A person who says they live in the home with four others and a golden retriever said they were all at his sister’s house when the explosion occurred.

A home in North Plainfield was destroyed Monday night in an explosion during severe weather and flash flooding.
It is believed the blast may have been caused by a natural gas explosion, though that has not been confirmed.

The house on Parkview Avenue was leveled, and some neighboring homes also appear to have sustained damage.
