We begin with that breaking news this morning. I'm Simon Choudhry. Thanks for joining us. I'm Nick Meanni. A house blows up in Somerset County. News New Jersey's Tony Caputo is on Park View Avenue in North Plainfield, and Tony, smoke started rising again. What is the latest in that area? Well, first responders took care of those hot spots and they have since left the scene, but across the street, just across the street from the house explosion lives Cleveland Joseph. Cleveland, we appreciate your time. You described this to me like a 3D view of reality. Tell me what you saw last night when this house exploded. It's like we were at front seats. We had front seats with 3D glasses on in a theater. I mean, it's like it just came on and grabbed us. The blast was crazy and that's frightening. You said the water was up to your steps because of the floodwater you hear and see this happen and here you are stuck in the house that had to be an incredibly helpless feeling. Correction we were sitting on those two chairs. Oh, OK, having a drink because we were flooded out we didn't know what to do. Waiting for the water to recede and uh honestly. When that hit, we were backed against the wall. We couldn't turn, we couldn't run, we couldn't do anything. The dog was running all over we finally got up, called 911, um, gave them a lot of information. They were here in about a minute, a minute and a half, and that was really good because I mean the panic was crazy. My neighbors, he just left the doorstep. He was smoking a cigar and he just walked back in. And Boom. I just came at us like that is frightening Cleveland. We're glad you're OK and you like us, found out that everybody in the house was out of the house, including the dog, including the dog. Yes, I was very worried about the dog because I have a dog. That dog always play with my dog, so it's good to know that the animal was OK. They didn't let the dog at home and you suffered some damage to three of your vehicles, including one that was right out in front of your house that is down the street right here, um. Then sprinter van that I bought for start to start working it's down the street. Um, those two, those two are disabled. The BMW you just bought, it's, yeah, uh, 2 weeks ago, you know, trying to start, get off the road off the out of tractor trailer trying to do some smaller work, you know, so ultimately we are glad you're OK and you're still smiling. We give you credit for that too, but Jamaican with life, everything is possible. Good stuff, man. Thanks for the time. We appreciate it. Cleveland Joseph here lives just across the street from the home explosion. He is losing some vehicles unfortunately, but he's OK. Everybody who was in that house was not home at the time, including the dog. No injuries reported. We'll have more updates as they become available. That's the latest from North Plainfield.
