A citywide program is helping New Yorkers with housing vouchers to find new homes quickly.
The Anthos Home organization says its goal is to get people housed. The organization builds relationships with landlords and tenants to help find people with housing vouchers the perfect fit.
Clifton Bond, 76, is a veteran and cancer survivor who says after neglect from his landlord, he began looking for apartments earlier this year. He described the process as difficult, especially with a housing voucher.
The Anthos Home organization stepped in—working closely with Bond from start to finish for free.
Anthos says it helps with moving costs, furniture and any necessary repairs.
This small organization that hit the ground running over a year ago says they are hoping to expand, but for now are prioritizing people with medical issues, families, and kids aging out of foster care.
