A Hunterdon County man is accused of using the subscription platform OnlyFans to convince women they were in exclusive romantic relationships before persuading them to send him large sums of money, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit of probable cause.

Aaron M. Falvo, 24, of Raritan Township, was charged with theft by deception, financial facilitation of criminal activity, falsifying records and two counts of receiving property derived from criminal activity.

Investigators allege Falvo worked with Sarah Knott of California, Armaan Shah and Grace Mendoza, who posed as him online, communicated with victims and encouraged them to send money. The three also face theft-by-deception and related charges, according to court documents.

Police say one woman sent Falvo nearly $300,000 after believing she was in a romantic relationship with him that began on OnlyFans in late 2024. The complaint specifically alleges Falvo obtained more than $100,000 from that victim through false pretenses, including money purportedly for dental work, a pickup truck, a motorcycle and other expenses tied to their supposed future together.

A second alleged victim also believed she was in an exclusive relationship with Falvo and sent him more than $500, investigators said. Court documents allege the group exploited victims emotionally by fabricating financial emergencies, creating "nightly goals" to pressure them into sending money and, in one case, helping a victim open a new bank account after fraud safeguards limited transfers.

Investigators said records obtained from OnlyFans, Discord and financial institutions showed members of the group took turns communicating with victims while posing as Falvo. Court documents also allege Falvo created a fraudulent employment contract to help one victim continue sending money after banks flagged the transfers as potential fraud.

Authorities also allege Falvo laundered proceeds from the scheme through multiple financial accounts, used the money to purchase a pickup truck and motorcycle and made payments to alleged co-conspirators.

According to court records, charges against Falvo were filed on March 26 and he was released from custody April 7 pending court proceedings. A representative for OnlyFans did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
