New Jersey is joining yet another lawsuit against the Trump administration.
Attorney General Matt Platkin announced that New Jersey is joining a coalition of two dozen states suing over the freezing of billions of dollars in education grants.
Platkin says $158 million is on the line for six programs in New Jersey. He says that by freezing the funding, programs for students with special needs, as well as after-school and summer programs, will be impacted.
Platkin says the move is causing chaos in school districts in the Garden State.
"Freezing billions of dollars in critical education funding just ahead of the start of the school year isn't just wrong and reckless. It is also flagrantly illegal..." Platkin said.
The attorneys general say that freezing the funding violates federal funding statutes.
