News 12's Frank Recchia was among the honorees at The Foundation of Hope Awards in Greenwich Saturday.
The nonprofit works to promote programs that support children and families in need.
According to its
website, the mission of the volunteer organization "is to collaborate with charitable organizations to raise local awareness of social issues, ecological justice, disaster relief, medical assistance and humanitarian aid with particular attention to children and education."
Organizers thanked Recchia for working on stories that align with that mission.
Several other community members were honored including Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling, Senator Richard Blumenthal and Dr. Camelia Lawrence, the director of Breast Surgery at Central Connecticut and Midstate Medical Center.
