Those living at the Kenney Apartments in the City of Newburgh say they still don't have heat or hot water.
As News 12 reported earlier this month, tenants say they are frustrated over the ongoing issues with heat, hot water and unsafe living conditions.
According to the deputy city manager, city code compliance has been on site all week inspecting units as the owner, Bourne and Kenney, made repairs to restore hot water and heat. Residents say while that did happen, it was only a temporary fix.
City officials told News 12 in a statement that the city will conduct one final inspection on Monday to legally document conditions. After the inspection, the city will decide whether to declare a state of emergency and proceed with city-funded repairs.
News 12 has made numerous attempts to reach the landlords but has been unsuccessful.
