Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is inviting the new interim U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey to come visit his city.

"Alina Habba, who I invite to leave the beautiful country clubs of Bedminster and come hang out with us here in the City of Newark so you can learn about our community, our town, see beautiful working-class people and some of which are immigrants,” Baraka said.

President Donald Trump appointed Habba to the position on Monday.

Haba is originally from Summit.

After being appointed, she took some shots at New Jersey’s Democratic leadership and vowed to stop what she calls “corruption” and “injustice” in New Jersey.

In addition to being Newark’s mayor, Baraka is also running to be New Jersey’s next governor.
