New York state issued a warning about scams relating to the state's inflation refund check program.
Thieves are allegedly sending texts, emails and direct mail claiming people must submit payment information in order to receive your check.
That information is not needed, according to the governor's office.
Anyone who has received a similar message and shared personal information is urged to report it to the IRS immediately.
