Frustration is growing in Pelham Parkway as a serial garage thief continues to target vehicles in residential buildings. The latest break-in happened early Wednesday morning on Middletown Road, adding to a string of similar crimes in the area.
Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the garage wearing orange gloves. He taps on a car window, and with a single touch, the glass appears to break. He then elbows out the remaining glass and climbs inside.
“This man just took his time,” said Ben Clemente, whose car was among the 14 vandalized that night.
The thief appears calm, moving from car to car without rushing. Clemente says the suspect didn’t take his two cellphones, possibly because they could be tracked.

“This guy has to be stopped because he’s dangerous,” Clemente added.
Security cameras captured the suspect leaving with a bag of stolen items, just minutes before another resident’s husband entered the garage and discovered the damage.
“Thank God nothing happened to him,” said Nelly Medina, another victim. “Otherwise, I wouldn’t be talking about our car—I’d be talking about my husband.”
Residents are calling for increased police presence.
“We need police to be patrolling around here,” Medina said. “They need to check the neighborhood and support us.”
Police are investigating a pattern of similar crimes in the area. News 12 has covered at least seven other garage break-ins this month.
One common detail stands out—each targeted building has an Auto Magic Corp gate, raising concerns about whether the thief is exploiting a security flaw.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact them. Residents say it’s time for this person to be caught before someone gets hurt.
