A new crosswalk and stop sign are set to be added to the intersection of Shore Road and Oliver Street in Bay Ridge, a location those who live nearby say has a host of issues in its current form.
"I cross it every day with my son, and it definitely feels dangerous we have absolutely seen cars speeding by," said a resident.
The announcement came from Council member Justin Brannan, who says the new upgrades could be installed in a manner of weeks.
"Here we have speeding cars, families with young children, older folks and a blind hill, this has been a known problem and when everyone is speaking up here saying we need a fix than we have to act," he said.
NYC's Vizion Zero map does not show any fatal crashes at the intersection, but residents say they frequently see speeding cars, and people crossing as they look to get into the entrance to Shore Road park.
Brannan says the project could be completed in a few weeks' time.
