New measles case confirmed in Bergen County

NJDOH has released a list of locations and time frames where individuals may have been exposed to the virus.

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) has confirmed a new measles case involving a resident of Bergen County.
Officials say that this case is not connected to previously reported cases in the state, and New Jersey is not currently experiencing a measles outbreak.
NJDOH has released a list of locations and time frames where individuals may have been exposed to the virus. Anyone who visited these sites during the specified periods should monitor for symptoms:
385 Prospect Plaza, 385 Prospect Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601 Aug. 25, 2025, between 2:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. Aug. 29, 2025, between 8:45 a.m – 11:30 a.m Pediatric Emergency Department, Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601 Aug. 26, 2025, between 10:45 a.m. – 5:45 p.m. Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital, Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601 Aug. 26, 2025, 3:30 p.m. through August 27, 2025, 8:30 p.m.
Health officials urge residents to be aware of measles symptoms, which include: High fever Cough Runny nose Watery, red eyes Rash appearing three to five days after symptoms begin
The NJDOH advises anyone who suspects they may have been exposed or are experiencing symptoms to call their local health department or healthcare provider before visiting a medical office or emergency department, to prevent further spread.
