Nassau Community College students raised concerns about the college's move to merge 21 departments into six, starting with this semester.
They spoke out at the NCCFT winter luncheon Tuesday.
The teacher's union says as a result, there are fewer faculty members and fewer classes available to students.
However, NCC officials tell News 12 that is not the case, and that no students have come to them saying they can't find a class.
They note that enrollment is up and that the budget deficit that was $14.5 million at the start of the semester has been reduced to $4.5 million.
