A man is facing charges after police said he ran a boat onto a Cape May County beach while intoxicated.

Thomas Hinchman of Mullica Hill drove the boat onto Villas Beach in Lower Township on Tuesday afternoon, according to state police.

Police said Hinchman was intoxicated when the boat ran ashore.

Troopers later found an empty bottle of vodka, police said.

A towing company was called to remove the boat from the beach.

No injuries were reported.
