        Mount Vernon Police Sergeant pleads guilty to using excessive force

        Police say Stewart tased the man as he was handcuffed on the ground with is legs tied.

        A Mount Vernon police sergeant has pled guilty to using excessive force.
        46-year-old Mario Stewart, of Brooklyn, was in federal court in White Plains.
        He allegedly used his taser seven times on a defenseless man with mental health issues.
        Police say Stewart tased the man as he was handcuffed on the ground with is legs tied.
        Stewart faces between 2 to 2.5 years in prison.
