        Mount Vernon High School students give free haircuts to senior citizens

        Future cosmetology students from Mount Vernon High School gave back to their community by providing free haircuts to senior citizens as part of a holiday-themed Senior Citizen Makeover Day.
        This event marked the second time the students have participated in the makeover day, which is part of a growing partnership between the Career and Technical Education (C-TE) Department and the Mount Vernon Recreation Department.
        According to C-TE Director Brian Simmons, these opportunities are invaluable for the students, allowing them to build deep and meaningful relationships with the elderly members of their community.
