16ds agoFuture cosmetology students from Mount Vernon High School gave back to their community by providing free haircuts to senior citizens as part of a holiday-themed Senior Citizen Makeover Day.
This event marked the second time the students have participated in the makeover day, which is part of a growing partnership between the Career and Technical Education (C-TE) Department and the Mount Vernon Recreation Department.
According to C-TE Director Brian Simmons, these opportunities are invaluable for the students, allowing them to build deep and meaningful relationships with the elderly members of their community.
