A Mount Vernon filmmaker is creating a movie to shed light on the issue of mass shootings across the nation.
Wilfred La Salle was born and raised in the Bronx but currently resides in Mount Vernon.
Since 2019, he's been creating and producing films with a zero-dollar budget and has managed to produce a new film every year. His most recent project, "The Security Guard," focuses on how school shootings can affect families personally.
"So, it was very important to me to make a film, especially about a school shooting, because this is a topic that America has been divided upon for so long. And so, I wanted to tell the story, but I wanted to do it with a certain level of respect. And one of the biggest things I wanted to do was [to] show the issues that we have in America, says La Salle"
The next trailer is set to be released Oct. 31. The film will be released on all major platforms summer of 2025.
