Mount Vernon celebrates first New Yorker to win Miss Wheelchair America

The competition recognizes women who advocate for disability rights, accessibility, and inclusion across the country.

A new Miss Wheelchair America was just crowned, and for the first time, the title goes to a New Yorker.
Latavia Sturdivant was celebrated Saturday in Mount Vernon for earning the national honor.
The competition recognizes women who advocate for disability rights, accessibility, and inclusion across the country.
"We need to make sure... and we can only do that together," Sturdivant said.
