Residents of a luxury building in Mott Haven say they woke up to a fire, household items being hurled from a window and then a flood on Thursday morning.

They claim a troubled neighbor is to blame, once again.

Video from the scene shows firefighters extinguishing a blaze inside an apartment at Brookfield Properties building on Third Avenue.

Tenants say they believe the woman who lives there set the fire intentionally.

“I know that they’ve turned off the gas in her apartment. I believe they’ve taken her microwave, trying to prevent these things from happening,” said Jada, a resident.

And this is not the first fire in the unit. Jada, who lives directly across the plaza, says she’s witnessed multiple disturbances over the past few months and believes the woman suffers from mental health issues.

“Things were being thrown from the window of her apartment, cleaning supplies, a broom, just a bunch of random things,” Jada said.

The building’s management website advertises breathtaking waterfront views and a luxurious lifestyle, but Jada says the reality doesn’t live up to the promise — especially at over $3,000 a month for a studio.

“I fear for my safety. You don’t know what could have happened. The apartment was on fire. There are people here who are disabled, in wheelchairs,” she said.

The fire also triggered the building’s sprinkler system, flooding lower levels, including the lobby and a coffee shop on the first floor.

Jada calling for action.

“Whoever needs to get involved, they need to show up. It’s time," said Jada.

In a statement, management said:

“The building’s sprinkler systems were activated immediately and the fire was quickly extinguished. Thankfully, no one was harmed. We are grateful to FDNY, which responded quickly and continues to investigate the cause. The safety of our tenants is our chief priority.”

They did not address whether the woman would be removed from the building.
