A warning is being shared about ice dams that can form on rooftops during winter conditions.
Ice dams happen when snow melts and then refreezes along the edge of a roof.
That buildup can allow water to back up and leak into a home, causing damage to insulation and drywall.
Mark Franzoso, president of Franzoso Contracting Inc., joined News 12 today to explain how homeowners can identify ice dams.
He also shared what to do if one forms and how to prevent them plus the advantages of steam removal as a prevention method.
