A fire broke out at a University Heights home overnight.
The FDNY says the call for the fire came in at 1:29 a.m. Bright orange flames were seen engulfing the home at 2202 University Ave. Officials say it took more than 100 firefighters and EMS responders to fight the fire.
Reports from the Department of Buildings show the home was abandoned for years. Neighbors say squatters have been staying at the property for some time. Those complaints have been resolved, according to DOB. However, the latest complaint of squatters was placed just over two months ago in December.
As of right now, the FDNY say there are no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
