March is the peak for pothole season, ultimately leading to lots of flat tires, dented rims, and more.
A survey by AAA found that 1 in 10 drivers sustained vehicle damage significant enough to warrant repairs after a pothole collision.
Last year alone, AAA responded to 61,250 flat tire calls in New York City and Long Island. They are anticipating more than 5,000 calls this March.
Not to mention, costs for pothole damages and collisions can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars.
As a reminder to Brooklyn drivers — prepare for more potholes to appear, where they haven’t already. Make sure to have monthly tire pressure check ins, don’t over or under inflate your tires, and avoid the potholes as much as you can.
