The man convicted of killing a Danbury cab driver has been sentenced to 21 years to life in prison.
Santos Vasquez-Ramirez, 28, was sentenced in Putnam County Court.
Authorities said Aurelio Orbez of Danbury picked up Vasquez-Ramirez near the Brewster train station in December.
A few days later, Orbez's cab was found abandoned at the Purdy train station.
His body was later recovered from the Croton Falls Reservoir.
Prosecutors said Vasquez-Ramirez got into a physical altercation with Orbez inside the cab over a previously unpaid fare and ultimately killed him.
The Putnam County District Attorney's Office said Vasquez-Ramirez will be deported to Guatemala after completing his prison sentence.
