Man wanted on bail jumping warrant faces new weapon and drug charges in Ulster
A Kingston man wanted on an outstanding warrant is facing multiple new felony charges after police said he was found carrying a loaded firearm and narcotics in Ulster.
Joshua E. Bahl, 36, was taken into custody Aug. 13 while officers were assisting another agency.
Police said Bahl had an active Superior Court warrant for bail jumping and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
When officers told Bahl he was being detained, he physically resisted for several minutes before being handcuffed and secured, police said.
A search of Bahl led to the discovery of a loaded firearm and several individual baggies containing an assortment of narcotics, according to police.
Bahl was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree.
He also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree.
