A North Bellport man has been indicted on multiple charges connected with a Bay Shore crash that killed a pedestrian in February.
Prosecutors say Andrew Holmes-Garriques fatally struck Korey Klein on the Sunrise Highway Service Road and fled without rendering aid or contacting police.
He was arrested after returning to the scene hours later, according to authorities.
Officials say he had been impaired by marijuana at the time of the collision and failed field sobriety testing.
The charges against him include DWI, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Holmes-Garriques is due back in court on June 1. He faces up to 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison if convicted of the top count.
