3h agoA man believed to be homeless was found dead on a bench in Spring Valley Monday morning.
He was described as being ''frozen,'' according to an emergency first responder.
While weather may be to blame, News 12 does not have his exact cause of death yet.
News 12 meteorologists say it was 30 degrees there Sunday night and by 8 a.m. Monday, it was 16 degrees but felt like 7 degrees.
An emergency room doctor shares symptoms for people to look out for when in the cold.
"Watch your fingers, your toes, for blistering, redness, they're turning pale, to not feeling your fingers," said Dr. Ramona Vanel. with Montefiore Nyack.
Tim Egan, the executive director of Rockland Paramedic Services, says their calls are down 13% the last seven days compared to the previous week, which he says could be because cold temps are keeping people inside - where he suggests everyone be.
