A 51-year-old East New York man was found dead in his apartment Thursday.

Police say they responded to a wellness check at an apartment on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Once inside, they discovered the 51-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the head. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

The man’s neighbors tell News 12 that the man had a roommate, although it is unclear if his roommate was also home at the time.

The medical examiner’s office has yet to determine the cause of death.

Police say they are waiting to notify his family before revealing his identity.
