Man appears to use child in a stroller to get inside Crown Heights building and steal package

It happened on Monday, with the video showing the man making sure the coast was clear in the lobby, before heading over to the pile of packages, which were on the floor, putting two of them into the bag on the back of his stroller and heading back out of the door.

Security camera video appears to show a man using a small child in a stroller to get someone to open the door for him at 240 Crown St. in Crown Heights, only so he could steal packages out of the lobby.
"I guess it's desperate times around here," reacted Noel Anderson, who lives in the building.
Rich, who also lives there, was a little less kind, saying "some people shouldn't have kids, maybe."
It happened on Monday, with the video showing the man making sure the coast was clear in the lobby, before heading over to the pile of packages, which were on the floor, putting two of them into the bag on the back of his stroller and heading back out of the door.
"Lowlife, that's all I can say," scoffed Andrea Seaborough, who lives inside. "I'm sure they go to every building and do the same thing."
Other residents however, were a bit more forgiving.
"If he's in a desperate situation, I don't know that it says too much about his character, maybe it says more about society," said Toly Moses. "But if he's fine and just stealing stuff, then that's (bleeped) up."
The building is listed as having 135 units, so people living in it say it is impossible to know everybody, leading to Anderson calling what happened "good intentions, bad results."
"I do think it's kind that they let him in, I wouldn't want this to be the lesson that people take away from this, like don't be a good neighbor," said Moses.
Still, residents say stolen packages have been a problem there in the past, especially around the holidays, with many blaming the fact that they are just left in a pile in the lobby.
"I ship them to my job and I just collect them there," Rich said.
Others said they make sure to be home when they know a package is scheduled to be delivered.
Seaborough on the other hand, said her strategy is "just take a chance. Seriously, just take a chance, and hopefully I get my package."
News 12 was told that one of the packages stolen on Monday had bridesmaid dresses inside of it.
