A mama duck and her ducklings got a helping hand from local first responders after becoming trapped in a storm drain in Westport on Sunday.
Police officers and animal control personnel worked together to safely rescue the duck family from the drain.
Video captured after the rescue shows officers escorting the mother duck and her ducklings along a nearby roadway, helping guide them to safety.
The Westport Animal Shelter says drivers should stay alert and watch for wildlife near roads. They encourage motorists to slow down when animals are present and give them plenty of space to cross safely.
