We made it to Friday, everybody. It's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and the things they have to offer this week. We are in Norwalk. News of Connecticut's Mark Sudall is at Sue Leonard's to get us all ready for the Super Bowl on Sunday. What are we eating, Mark? Oh, we got a lot of stuff here, Asia. Good morning to you. Hey, you know, the National Chicken Council says Americans are going to eat 1.48 billion chicken wings. We're going to prepare chicken wings in a moment with Nicole Weiss, who is the VP of stew's here in Norwalk. First of all, we're going to start with Sarah LeClerc. She is one of Stu's granddaughters, and we're going to do a dip. What do you got for a dip? We're going to do a dip. OK, so we, so our dip, we have some mayonnaise. So you first put the mayonnaise in, OK. Then we have sour cream. We should also mention some of Stew's other items here, the chips, the dips, the shrimp. 25,000 bags of chips for the Super Bowl. Are you kidding me? Every year, blue cheese. OK, sorry about that. Whacked you there with a mic. That's OK. Buttermilk, OK, and lemon juice. Oh wow. And then it's a nice blue cheese dip. Wow. And is that whisk it? That's the one you've got over here, huh? Right here. Yes, you get a whip have it prepared and there's delightful. And there you go, blue cheese dip. Fantastic. All right, now you're going to go on to the chicken here. So Mark, I have to say a fun fact I learned this morning. I've been here for 38 years, started as a cashier, and I'm running this Norwalk store. Happy to be here every day for our customers, but Sarah's told me she's been here for 38 years too. And do you know how Sarah is 38 years old, so I don't know. I feel young still, even though Sarah pointed that out. Let me talk Super Bowl and chicken wings. So we will sell £40,000 of chicken wings over Super Bowl at Stew Leonard's. Crazy. So today I have our Stew Leonard's naked chicken wings. I have the raw version here. I'm going to talk about an air fryer recipe. So here I have all of our ingredients. We have some kosher salt, garlic salt, our beer can rub sauce. Cayenne pepper, and these are all stew's ingredients, all stew's ingredients. We have some baking powder. So let me tell you a fun trick, OK? Wet chicken wings do not get crispy. So if you blot them with a paper towel and you add baking soda to your ingredients, they will crisp up, as you can see our completed version. I have some pepper. We'll whisk mix this all together, dump it on our chicken wings. We're gonna mix this up all that up nice. And then, uh, what do you got the air fryer over here slap this right into your air fryer like so. Now what if you don't have an air fryer? You can use your confection oven at home, but put a grate on the bottom so air gets through, because the goal of chicken wings is to make them crispy. You don't want like a kind of just boring chicken wing on. All right, now, uh, I'm gonna have to put this mic down so I can get my hands. Let me hold the mic don't you just hold that mic for me. Let me grab one of these babies and dip in Sarah's specialty dip. Sarah's specialty dip. All right, tell us how crispy that is. Oh, I'll start. I don't know what's better, the dip or the chicken. Mm, yes, come to Stew's for Super Bowl. We are so excited for all of our top sellers here. We have all of these ingredients available. We have chips, dips, chicken chili. We have our party wings, cooked wings, you name it. If you're not able to come to the store, you can shop on Instacart or DoorDash. We'll deliver to you and Nicole will be here all week. I'll be here. Unfortunately we will not, but we got some great chicken here Super Bowl. We can't wait. Mark, I just have one request. Can you bring the 40,000 pounds of chicken wings to us, to Newsville, Connecticut, to back to the studio? I that'd be nice. I don't see why not. I don't think they're going anywhere else. You know what that music means. He's at Stew Leonard's to get us ready for the Super Bowl on Sunday. I know what that smile means. That means there's some really good food around you, Mark. Oh, there's some great food. Yeah, we showed you some of the food in our last hour with the uh chicken wings and all that good stuff. We're gonna get into some liquid refreshments this hour. You know that. Americans are going to consume more than 325 million gallons of beer on Sunday. Here to talk more about beer, wine, the whole business is Joanne Lo Gerardo with with Stew's Wines and Spirits, which is across the street here in Norwalk. Thank you so much for being with us for having me. So you've got, you've got some Boston beers here. Oh, we would be remiss if we didn't have a Boston. for our New England Patriots, right? So we have the Sam Adams, all the seasonals and the lager, of course, and along with that we also have some non-alcoholic products from Athletic, which are also a local company. They're based in Milford now, and they just came out with something really fun. They came out with a beer-based non-alcoholic cocktail. They do two. styles Paloma, which is really grapefruit forward, and Moscow Mule, which is really lime forward, so they're really nice, refreshing, and it's a great opportunity for us to have something for the non-alcohol-free wine beer. Now you wanted to keep this fair, and that's very, very good of you. Yes, the Seattle Seahawks, let's not forget, are the other team in the Super Bowl. So you've also represent. We did and we we absolutely did. We have two wines here from Washington State. This is Dead Canyon Ranch. It's from Horse Heaven Hills, which is an outstanding region for growing Cabernet grapes. It's also a great region for offering great value because Horse Heaven Hills, well, wines from Washington state overall overdeliver for quality and. And then we have a Sauvignon Blanc that is from a small family called the Hedges family, and they make this Sauvignon Blanc. It's really crisp and delicious. It is a little different than a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or California Sauvignon Blanc because it does also have a tiny, tiny bit of Chardonnay and Marsan, which is a French wine grape. It sort of rounds out. The wine and makes it not just kind of you know super crisp, but it makes it very flush and plush. It's delicious. So you've also got some other items here as well. Tell us about those. Yes, these are great. So we would again, we would be remiss if we didn't show ready to make cocktails. I mean this is a wonderful product that's made by a local Norwalk family. They're called. Smith and they make, they started with 3 different styles a Manhattan, a Negroni, and a boulevardier, and then they expanded to 2 white spirit cocktails, one's a Paloma and the other one's a Rum Runner. I thought it might be fun. The nice thing about these is that they are great for entertaining because all you have to do is pour them over ice and your guests are going to be very happy with the quality of this product. The products, all the spirits are all aged in barrels, and the Manhattan, which is this one here, was rated by Forbes as the best Manhattan in the world. Amazing. So that's kind of cool. So you got a lot of options here for things to drink and certainly things to eat here. Come on, let's go. Let's get ready for Sunday, Patriots. We need the food and the drinks, and I love that there's a non-alcoholic option. There's something for everybody. I love it. All right, Mark, thank you.
