All right, it's Friday and that means it's time for Main Street, Connecticut a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and all they have to offer. Today we are in Fairfield. We should be. We're gonna see how businesses are prepping for tomorrow's big Little League US championship games. Let's get right over to News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall. He's standing by at Soggett Suites. Mark. Hey, Becky, look at all these goodies here. Well, you can get your hands on all kinds of candy here. Oh, this is delicious. What a setup we got. Of course, you know, they got the candy, they got the ice cream, and they've got. Al Al Deuido here from Sorek Sweets also does Al's Angels. He does so much for the community here. Thank you so much for being with us. Thank you for coming here. We really appreciate it. And you know you've done a lot also with, you know, Fairfield American Little League, Fairfield National Little League. Tell me about this team. Current team and what they mean to this town we always talk about this being small town America and this team really represents small town America. We see these kids when they're not in uniform, they come in here and buy candy, buy ice cream. They're really, really good kids and to see them work as hard as they have worked their coaches, their parents, everybody else has been amazing. And what it's done for the community is it's given such an incredible sense of pride to watch these kids being really good kids and playing the way they're playing. They're never out of a game. They're never thinking about two games ahead of themselves. It's always the next game. How do we win the next game? And uh it's, it's just been great. It's been phenomenal. So what's it been like for business? Business has been great, so we got of kids coming in here when the games are on. As a matter of fact, we're gonna be having a watch party tomorrow at 3 o'clock here at the store, and uh we get kids coming in all the time. We have the games on and they're, you know, they're joking around. They know the other kids, right? They go to school with these kids. So it's, it's kind of like watching their buddies, uh, you know, watching their buddies play a game. A national scale, I mean, you think about it this way. There's only 2 teams left. Nevada and Fairfield left in the country playing for this championship, and then you know hopefully we win tomorrow and we get to play into the international group. So it's just incredible. I mean, Fairfield understands it, but I, you really got to see what's going on here. Two teams left in the whole. A tree and we're one of them. I mean that's amazing. Al, thank you so much for the time. Always good to see you. Same here. Thanks a lot. And we hear that there are some events planned in the works for next week when this team comes back home too. We'll keep an eye on that and we'll be over at the pantry in Fairfield in our next hour, Becky. All right, hitting all the spots. Al does so much in the community. Hey Becky, yeah, everybody's all getting psyched up for tomorrow's big game with Fairfield taking on Nevada. Should be a good one for the US championship. Chef Dan Monroe, we've talked to him many times here at the pantry. Thank you for being with us. What do you think of this team? You've been watching some of these games. I'm excited. They look good. They're having fun. They're out there just hitting balls, having a great time. I'm super excited to see what they do next because. Fairfield. We get live in Connecticut. We already got a whole bunch of basketball and pizza. Baseball about to be next. We're taking over the world. That's what I'm talking about. Let's go. Now of course, look, there's going to be watch parties. People are going to want to eat. What do you do you got to go, Fairfield. What are you recommending? So as far as easy, quick things to grab eat at any kind of sporting event, dips. From here incredible. We got dips that are crazy. The southwestern dip, ABC dip, caramelized onion dip, chicken dip. Hey now they go crazy and dips and chips and dip, like sitting down to a game and enjoying some chips and dip. You can't and you made these special Fairfield National cookies, is that right? some cookies. Absolutely. Get that team spirit, getting that, that's right, and white. So how's business been? You're getting A lot of the parents coming in here, the kids, right? Parents coming in, people excited, just baseball fans excited to see a local team doing big things, so they'll come in, grab a tray of sandwiches, grab a tray of cookies, grab themselves a cake, and hook it up. So where are you going to be tomorrow at 3:30? I'm gonna be sitting down watching the game. Can't wait. Yeah, we're gonna be home watching it. I got my chips, got my dip. I have me some flank steak, have a salad, corn amay salad. It's a good time. You have to give me the address. I'll be right over. Yeah, I mean, look, we talked about this before. Look, we're a couple of guys that like to eat. He happens to be the guy that cooks it all. I mean, what a great kind of tandem that is. You get, you get to cook and then eat what you cook. Absolutely love to cook. I love to eat. I love to eat and I love to watch other people eat. She's a fascination. I cook it, put it in front of people, and it's the joy people have, and that excitement is always translated, especially in events like this where people are doing really big things and it's exciting for other people, and then they get the food element to it. It adds so much to it, doesn't it? It's beautiful. Jeff Dan, thank you as always. Let's do it together, ready? Go. Let's go again.
