WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Cool overnight, with temperatures in the low and mid-60s under mostly clear skies.
A sunny and near seasonable stretch will take effect Friday and Saturday. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s. Low temperatures will be in the low 60s.
There is a slight chance of showers Sunday evening but not looking like a big deal as of Thursday night.
There are minor changes in the new drought monitor with moderate drought for New York City.
TRACKING THE TROPICS: There's a tropical wave off the coast of Africa that has a low chance of development over the next seven days.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, still mild and pleasant. Highs near 76. Lows near 60.
