Students at Mahopac Middle School returned to class this morning after a person was arrested on school grounds Monday morning.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, the person was arrested after refusing to leave school grounds around 9 a.m.

A school resource officer questioned the person, who became combative and was taken into custody.

Officials say the incident is isolated, and there is no cause for alarm.
