A Bergen County sculptor is bringing historic icons to life, one statue at a time. Carolyn Palmer molds every statue she creates by hand, typically spending months on each project. "I always sculpt to bring out the soul of the actual person that I'm sculpting," Palmer said. "And so I feel like that's a moment in time that I freeze for other people to see and experience." After she finishes the mold, the project will be wax duplicated, sealed in bronze, and shipped to their new home. She has created life-sized busts of icons such as Frank Sinatra, located on the Hudson River in Hoboken's Frank Sinatra Park, four papal busts that live at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan, Lucille Ball for the Lucille Ball Park in Celoron, New York, and more.
