        Long Island veterans get free haircuts on Veterans Day

        Valley Stream barber shop plans to host free haircuts for veterans every year on Veterans Day.

        Some Long Island veterans were treated to free haircuts and trims on their special day.
        Andy's Barber Shop in Valley Stream hosted a Veterans Day appreciation event for men and women who have served our country.
        It was really nice. I got a great haircut today," says Gary Cohen, a Vietnam veteran from Valley Stream.
        Veteran David Rodriguez served in the Army for three years in Bosnia.
        "I think this is great. It shows that the community cares about us veterans," explained Rodriguez, of Valley Stream.
        The barber shop plans to host the free haircuts event every year on Veterans Day.
