Service on the LIRR's Hempstead Branch is temporarily suspended after a car crashed onto the tracks at the Nassau Boulevard train station.
The MTA says that the crash happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
It was not clear why the car crashed or the extent of the driver's injuries.
MTA crews are working to remove the vehicle and repair significant damages to both tracks, the third rail and station staircases.
The MTA is advising commuters to account for extra travel time tomorrow and anticipate the restoration of one of two tracks by the Wednesday morning commute.
NICE bus will continue to cross-honor LIRR fares until we can restore train service.
