Know Before You Go: New law expands transportation options for seniors and disabled residents

The legislation, known as A-2607, expands the successful "Riders Choice Pilot Program" launched in 2023. The program allowed New Jersey Transit Access Link customers to use taxis, limousines, or ride-sharing services like Lyft and Uber instead of wheelchair-equipped vans.

A new law in New Jersey aims to provide more transportation options for seniors and residents with disabilities.
The legislation, known as A-2607, expands the successful "Riders Choice Pilot Program" launched in 2023. The program allowed New Jersey Transit Access Link customers to use taxis, limousines, or ride-sharing services like Lyft and Uber instead of wheelchair-equipped vans.
The new law serves 16 counties and provides para-transit services to people living in rural communities.
Drivers providing these services will be required to fill out reports detailing each ride.
