An eight-car crash on State Route 17 eastbound in Sullivan County resulted in 10 people being injured Monday morning around 7:45 a.m.
The incident occurred between exits 108 and 109, leading to a temporary closure of that section of the highway for approximately one hour to ensure safety and manage the situation.
According to the Rock Hill Fire Department, the crash was attributed to extreme sun glare. All 10 individuals involved were transported to local hospitals with injuries described as nonlife-threatening.
In response to this accident, the department has issued a caution to drivers, urging them to be vigilant, especially during morning commutes when sun glare can be particularly hazardous in this area.
