We are continuing a much cooler stretch through tomorrow. Tomorrow morning will be our coldest of fall yet with early morning lows in the low to mid-30s. Frost and freeze warnings are posted from midnight until 9 a.m. Thursday because of this. While tomorrow will be cool again, it will feel less chilly with less wind and highs in the upper 50s. This stretch over the next 10 days is one of the nicest we can get across the lower Hudson Valley this time of the year. Expect dry weather and temperatures warming up into the 70s by Saturday. We definitely need rain, but there is just not much if any to be found yet still. Have a great day!
LOCAL ALERTS (FOR THURSDAY MORNING): Freeze Warning for Orange, Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster counties. Frost Advisory for most of Westchester and Rockland counties. This related to plants potentially getting damaged in morning temperatures around the freezing mark. Protect plants this evening!
COMET WATCH (see photo): Try looking at the western sky around 45 minutes to one hour after sunset over the next few nights. You can see this with the unaided eye after you let your eyes adjust to the night sky, but it looks even better with binoculars.
BASEBALL WEATHER (METS VS. DODGERS NLCS GAME 3 IN QUEENS TONIGHT AT 8:08 PM): Dress warmly! It will be dry and clear, but chilly.
DROUGHT MONITOR: Abnormally dry conditions continue for a lot of the lower Hudson Valley. We are not in official drought status yet.
