Jurors in the trial of Edward Holley say they are divided as deliberations continue in Orange County.
This morning the jury wrote to the judge that they are deadlocked, with 5 votes for guilty and 7 votes for not guilty.
This is Holley’s second trial in the 2003 murder case. His first trial last year ended in a mistrial.

Holley is accused of killing his ex‑girlfriend Megan McDonald in the town of Wallkill, striking her several times in the face and head with a blunt object.
The prosecution presented a mostly circumstantial case. The defense did not put on a case.
Judge Hyun Chin Kim told jurors that they have only deliberated a few hours total and instructed them to continue working. She reminded them that most juries do reach verdicts, even if progress seems unlikely at times.
News 12’s Ben Nandy is covering the case from the Orange County Courthouse and will have more at 5 p.m.
