Students at Sussex County Technical High School in Sparta are getting a reputation as the best pumpkin chunkers in New Jersey.
At the 7th annual Pumpkin Sling Competition at Picatinny Arsenal, the kids designed a trebuchet to see how far it can throw a pumpkin into a lake. The winning pumpkin was cast over 200 feet away.
This is the second year in a row that Sussex Tech has won. They beat out West Orange, Madison and Warren Hills.
