The Union Beach Police Department will mark its 100th anniversary next year.
In celebration of the milestone, students at the Brookdale Community College automotive department are working to fix up a 1966 Chrysler Newport. This was a police car used in Union Beach nearly six decades ago.
It is a semester-long project. The vehicle needs a new engine and a new transmission. They hope to have it fully restored by Christmas.
