6ds agoThe jazz band at the Newark Academy in Livingston was selected for the Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition.
Only 30 high school jazz bands across the country get the call to be in the national championship.
The Newark Academy band is the defending champion of the event. They are now going back to defend their title.
The competition is held in May at Lincoln Center.
