A Bloomfield firefighter is making New Jersey proud.
Deputy Chief Joseph Coletta has been named the Bloomfield Fire Department Firefighter of the Year.
Coletta is credited with organizing the Bloomfield High School drunk driving simulation, leading the department’s involvement in active shooter drills, coordinating the Fire Prevention Week open house and serving as the master of ceremonies for numerous fire department promotional and award ceremonies.
Officials say Coletta is a role model for all members of the department.
