Grassroots efforts are working year-round to make sure our troops overseas know we're thinking of them.
For years we've been telling you about Lloyd Mullikin's group in Bayville, Ocean County. Mullikin sends tons of material overseas every year. He recently received some photos of troops from one of our bases in Kuwait.
In Stratford, Camden County, the Military Support Group of New Jersey is taking Christmas donations right now since it takes four weeks for items to arrive overseas. CLICK HERE if you would like to donate.
And in Cliffside Park, Bergen County, for five years, they've been collecting candy for veterans at the Sedona Taphouse. Retired Sgt. Aimee Hernandez and restaurant owner Mendi Zuta collect it and ship it.
They are all making New Jersey proud.
