A homeless outreach event will take place at Journal Square in Jersey City on Saturday.
The event is organized by the group Walk a Mile in Our Shoes.
Volunteers will be out at 8 a.m. handing out socks, hats and gloves – everything needed to stay warm.
Eugene Campbell founded the group. He started the outreach program six years ago to get donations directly into the hands of those who needed them.
They recently held a Thanksgiving food drive and a Christmas toy drive in Trenton. They also distributed clothing handouts in Paterson and Newark.
More information about the group can be found HERE.
